EA Sports College Football 25 Team Builder Deep Dive

Create your own dream team with Team Builder in EA SPORTS College Football 25.

Hey College Football Fans, welcome back to the Campus Huddle! As we gear up for the worldwide launch of EA SPORTS™ College Football 25 tonight, we’re diving deep into Team Builder – a beloved feature making its grand return. Let’s explore what’s in store for you with Team Builder.

Building Team Builder

Introduced in 2009, Team Builder allowed millions of fans to bring their custom creations to the field. With the return of College Football 25, it was clear that fans wanted Team Builder back. Our team worked tirelessly to bring this feature back, and improve it significantly.

We engaged with creators, watched countless Team Builder videos, read blogs, wish lists, and even hired community members to help design and build Team Builder. Senior Engineer Chris Markuck, one of the original architects of Team Builder in 2009, returned to lead the charge.

Our approach to Team Builder centered around three core pillars:

  1. Deep Creation Suite: Empower players to create and customize their schools more than ever before.
  2. Discover & Share: Make it easy to discover and share great content and content creators.
  3. Elevate Creators: Celebrate creators for their creative accomplishments.

Accessing the Website

To access the Team Builder website, use your EA Account information to log in and navigate to the College Football URL.

The main screen showcases and elevates the work of the community’s most devoted fans, featuring the top downloaded and highest-rated teams. You can also search for existing content using filters like uniform provider or state.

Creating a Brand and Identity

After selecting “Start Creating,” you’ll define your school’s identity and brand, including its name, nickname, logos, uniform provider, and team colors.

  • Logos: Add a primary, secondary, and tertiary logo. You can upload your own logos or choose from recolorable generic logos.
  • Uniform Provider: Choose between Nike, Adidas, or Under Armour. This impacts your players’ equipment, name and number fonts, and jersey and pant stitch patterns.
  • Team Colors: Use the eyedropper tool to set team colors from your primary logo or customize each color’s hue, saturation, brightness, Hex, or RGB value.

Uniform Customization

Helmets

Customize your helmet’s base color and reflectiveness (matte, shiny, or chrome). Change the color and reflectiveness of the facemask, chinstrap, front bumper, and back bumper. Add logos and stripes, and use the advanced placement editor for precise customization.

Custom Layers

Add up to 7 custom layers on the helmet, with unique properties and placement options. Customize the finish of each layer (shiny, matte, satin, or chrome), and adjust dimensions, flip, rotate, and place logos exactly where you want.

Jerseys

Select your apparel brand and corresponding stitch patterns. Choose from real-life stripes, designs, cuffs, collars, and fonts. Add layers to include team names or unique designs on the jersey.

Pants and Socks

Customize pants with a variety of stripes and colors. For socks, set the color of the “Oversock,” “Base/Undersock,” and Brand color. You can create up to 5 helmets, 5 jerseys, 5 pants, and 5 socks, allowing for 625 uniform combinations.

Creating an Alternate Uniform

Create alternate uniforms by duplicating existing designs and modifying colors and elements. Use the “Preview Uniform” option to duplicate and edit uniforms easily.

Customizing Your Home Field

Customize your stadium with 8 components: Stadium, Crowd, Surface, Logos, Endzone, Numbers, Sidelines, and Benches.

  • Stadium: Choose from one of the existing 134 team stadiums and rename it.
  • Crowd: Set primary and secondary crowd colors and adjust the percentage of the crowd wearing each color.
  • Field: Select grass or turf and its color. Add logos, customize endzones, and set field number fonts and positions.

Program/Franchise

Modify players on the last tab, setting your playbooks and selecting from 7 generic roster types. Customize players’ attributes to fit your playing style.

Publishing and Download Center

Submit and publish your team once satisfied. Explore and download custom teams in the Download Center. Use the search tool to find specific content by keywords, usernames, and content types.

Importing Your Team into Dynasty Mode

Importing a Team Builder team is available only in a private cloud Dynasty. Import up to 16 teams per Dynasty at the beginning of the season. Choose whether to replace the team’s roster or maintain existing rosters while changing uniforms and fields.
