How to Manange Staff in College Football 25

In College Football 25, as a head coach, managing your staff is one of the most critical tasks you will undertake. The Coach Archetype system ensures that no head coach can excel at everything, which makes it even more essential to surround yourself with coordinators who complement your strengths and shore up your weaknesses. Staff management is your chance to assemble the ideal coaching team that can lead your program to success, both on and off the field.

College Football 25: Managing Your Staff

You’re Fired!

Staff management begins during Conference Championship Week, and it’s the only time you have the power to fire your coordinators. This is a crucial decision, so use it wisely, because after this week passes, you’ll no longer be able to replace a coordinator unless another school hires them away during the Coaching Carousel.

Coordinators won’t leave unless they’re fired or poached by another school. Every coordinator operates on a standard two-year contract. When their contract ends, it will be automatically renewed for another two years unless you decide otherwise. If your coordinator has one year or less remaining on their contract, there’s a chance they could be poached and leave for another program. If that happens, you’ll be given an opportunity to hire a new coordinator during the Carousel.

Welcome to the Team!

Starting in Bowl Week 1, if you have an open position on your coaching staff, you’ll be able to hire new coordinators. When you go to fill these vacancies, you’ll be presented with a curated list of candidates that match your program’s needs. The selection logic is based on the same criteria the AI schools use to find their top coaching prospects, ensuring you are presented with strong choices.

When viewing potential hires, you’ll see various key pieces of information:

  • Current school: Where they are currently employed.
  • Active archetype: Their coaching focus or specialty.
  • Coach level: Their experience and expertise.
  • Interested schools: A list of schools also competing to hire the candidate.

Additionally, you’ll be able to examine the candidate’s talent tree in detail to determine how their abilities align with your program’s goals. This allows you to make informed decisions based on the strengths you need to succeed.

Making the Offer

Once you’ve decided on a candidate, it’s time to make your offer. However, there’s no guarantee the coach will accept it. You’re only allowed to offer one coach per position each week, and after making the offer, the candidate will appear in your Staff Management Screen with an “Offered” tag.

When you advance the week and return to the screen, you’ll find out if the coach has accepted your offer. If they accept, they’ll officially join your program after the National Championship game, when all coaching moves are processed. If they decline, you can offer the job to another coach in the next week of the carousel.

Competing for Top Talent

It’s important to note that you’re not the only school vying for top coaching talent. Some of your preferred candidates may be courted by other schools, making the hiring process more competitive. If your top choice declines your offer, you’ll have the opportunity to try again with another coach the following week.

However, to ensure that your coaching staff is complete, you will always have at least one coach available to hire who isn’t being pursued by other schools. If you reach the end of the Coaching Carousel without filling an open position, the game will automatically assign you a coordinator who matches your program’s level.

Building the Best Staff for Success

College Football 25 emphasizes that no head coach can be great at everything, so hiring the right coordinators is crucial. Whether you’re looking for a defensive mastermind, a recruiting guru, or a tactical offensive coordinator, the coordinators you hire will directly impact your success on the field. By carefully analyzing candidates, understanding your program’s needs, and strategically filling positions, you can craft a coaching team that leads your program to glory season after season.
