Harvest AI Guides

Harvest is a unique league mechanic in Path of Exile where players battle monsters in The Sacred Grove to gain access to powerful crafting options. This guide covers the current iteration of the Harvest mechanic.

The Sacred Grove

The Sacred Grove is a special area players can access through portals that may appear in maps. Each instance of The Sacred Grove contains 2-4 Lifeforce Dispersers, each connected to two patches of seeds. These seed patches list the types of monsters that will spawn, the Lifeforce they will drop, and the seed tiers.

Key Features of The Sacred Grove:

  1. Lifeforce Dispersers: Devices that activate seed patches, spawning monsters and yielding Lifeforce for crafting.
  2. Seed Patches: Contain lists of monsters and the types and tiers of Lifeforce they drop.
  3. Crystallized Lifeforce: Used for crafting recipes at the Horticrafting Station.

Activating Seed Patches:

  • Players choose which seed patch to activate.
  • The unchosen patch withers.
  • Activated patches spawn monsters that drop Crystallized Lifeforce.
  • Higher-tier seeds drop more Lifeforce.

Seed tiers range from dull gray (lowest) to white, light blue, and finally orange-brown (highest). Higher-tier seeds yield special loot and more challenging enemies.

Map Modifiers and The Sacred Grove

The Sacred Grove is part of the map instance it spawns from, meaning map modifiers apply within the Grove. Modifiers such as area quantity, quality, fragments, and Eldritch Altars affect the amount of Lifeforce dropped by monsters, although with reduced effectiveness (~50%). Player quantity modifiers do not have any effect.

Bosses in The Sacred Grove

Tier 4 seed patches have a small chance to spawn and contain powerful boss monsters. Boss names are highlighted in orange-brown, similar to unique items. Multiple Tier 4 seeds can appear in a plot, and bosses can be duplicated via Harvest passives.

Harvest Bosses:

  1. Janaar, the Omen (Primal)
  2. Namharim, Born of Night (Vivid)
  3. Ersi, Mother of Thorns (Wild)

Each boss has a chance to drop exclusive unique items:

  • Plume of Pursuit
  • The Felbog Fang
  • Bear’s Girdle

These bosses can also drop a Sacred Blossom, a map fragment that opens another instance of The Sacred Grove with a boss fight against Oshabi, Avatar of the Grove. Defeating Oshabi guarantees a drop of Sacred Crystallized Lifeforce, used for high-end Harvest crafts.

Conclusion

The Harvest mechanic in Path of Exile offers a unique and powerful way to craft items, giving players control and customization over their gear. By understanding the mechanics, efficiently managing The Sacred Grove, and strategically using Lifeforce, you can create exceptionally powerful items to enhance your character’s capabilities. Dive into The Sacred Grove, cultivate your garden, and harness the power of Harvest to dominate Wraeclast. Happy crafting, Exiles!
