Penance Mark

Penance Mark is a mark curse skill that causes hits against the marked target to summon hostile phantasms. These phantasms can be killed by you.

Penance Mark is a mark curse that targets a single enemy, causing them to spawn multiple enemy phantasms when hit with a cooldown of # seconds. Spawned phantasms match the marked enemy’s monster level, cast a physical projectile spell, and are immune to curses. As the phantasms are considered enemies, they can be used to proc on-hit and on-kill effects in situations with few or no additional enemies, such as pinnacle boss encounters.

Penance Mark shares the limit of 1 mark with other mark skills.

Whenever the marked enemy is hit, it spawns 3 phantasms, no more than once per second. The phantasms are regular enemies and will fight you while they live, but expire after a few seconds if not already killed. They grant flask charges and vaal souls when slain (but do not drop loot or leave corpses).

Penance Mark scales with Mark Effect. Scaling Mark Effect increases the number of enemy Phantasms spawned at breakpoints of 33.3%, rounded up to the nearest integer.

A Phantasm’s maximum life depends on the level of the Penance Marked monster. In a level 83 area, they will have about 20,000 life. It is possible for poisons to be proliferated from Phantasms to the marked target, as long as the Phantasm is close enough for the proliferation. However, Phantasms tend to spawn a minimum distance away from the marked target, making it difficult to reliably do so.

Curses a single enemy, causing them to spawn multiple phantasms when hit. The phantasms will be allies of the marked enemy with the same monster level. They cast a projectile spell which deals physical damage, and are immune to curses and knockback. You can only have one Mark at a time.

  • Can be Attached for a total Duration of 3.00 seconds
  • Cursed Enemies spawn 3 Shackled Phantasms when Hit, no more than once per second.

How to get it?

  • Drops from The King in the Mists in the Crux of Nothingness. The King in the Mist’s boss arena, Crux of Nothingness, can be accessed by using An Audience With The King fragment on the map device.
