Respect the original and learn from the history, Gubi is here to present the designs that have gone unrecognized for decades in modern context. The humble designs were originally designed for post-war periods in France and were driven by the sense of responsibility towards the people, especially for those in space-efficient apartments and housing.
The Marcel Gascoin’s collection is now reintroduced at Gubi with additional flexibility: the very first design of Gasoin - hand-woven paper cord and veneer C-Chair (1947), S-Table (1953), B-Table (1950) and the Trefle Stool (1949).
It has been a long wait for Gubi’s extendable tables, the two tables smartly hide their extensions within the construction from the deep concerns in people’s needs back in WWII and post-war periods.
To enrich Gubi's world of design, they have been introducing voluminous design for seasons (e.g. Pacha Lounge) and strikes the perfect balance with their well-known lighter chair and table series (e.g. Beetle, Bat, TS Table).
Dynamic Flaneur Sofa collection simplified one of the very first “modern” English roll-arm sofas from the 19th century in a round and low-living form of expression; While Sejour Lounge brings you back to the early 18th century with the modern form of “slipper” chairs.
