Artek’s Riihitie plant pots were originally designed by Aino Aalto to be used on the terrace of her own home. The curved, organically shaped planters that were presented at the Paris World Fair in 1937 did not make to serial production at the time, but nowadays the handmade ceramic pots, named after Alvar and Aino Aalto’s home street in Helsinki, have become hugely popular design objects and cherished gifts.

The colour chosen for the special edition plant pots, designed for Finnish Design Shop’s 15th anniversary, was inspired by Aalto’s archives. The greenish linen colour is beautifully highlighted by the matt finish on the outside of the pot; the inside has a glossy finish. The Riihitie plant pot in linen is available in two sizes.
