Siena: The graphic, geometric Siena textile pattern created by Alvar Aalto was named after the Italian city he adored. Legend has it that the inspiration came from the city’s mediaeval cathedral on Piazza del Duomo.
H55: Featuring a tessellating pattern of the letter H, in 1955, architect Elissa Aalto’s textile pattern featured in the interior of the Finnish model apartment designed by Alvar Aalto’s studio for the Helsingborg Exhibition in Sweden.
